Hey everyone. I'm building a computer for a friend. They want to do mild gaming but mostly surf the internet. I was wondering if you guys think the i3 3250 and the GTX 750TI would be up to the task of playing most games on med-high settings. They have a budget of around 500.

Would the 3250 be fine to get if I can get it for a good deal? Or would the 4160 be better even if I have to spend around 50 more dollars? Locally there is someone on craigslist selling a 3250 for 70 bucks unopened and even offered me to open it up and try it out there if I'd like.

I suggested the 4130, not the i3 4160. I don't know much about the latter. Regardless, the main difference between the i3 3250 and the i3 4130 is the different socket - the 3250 uses the LGA 1155 and the 4130 uses the LGA 1150. Different motherboards will be required in order to use the different CPUs. The i3 4130's LGA 1150 provides a better upgrade pathway to i5s like the 4460 for example.
