Earlier this month, this was not a matter but now with the fact that AMD prices are increasing and rumors about AMD discontinuing their FX line, I am considering an i3 and then possibly upgrading to an i5-3570k later (Might or might not). If I go AMD, I might upgrade to the FX-8350 (Not sure though).Should I get the FX-6300 or the i3?

I would get the fx6300. The i3 will be SLIGHTLY better in games only coded to use 2 cores, but when it comes to games that use 4 cores, there isn't even a comparison.

BF4 for example, an i3 will struggle to run it at all while an fx-6300 will run it smoothly.

Could you make me a quick AMD build with the FX-6300 for around $600?
-OS included in price
-I already have a mouse, keyboard, optical drive, and a hard drive.

This will play everything at high settings comfortably.

AM3+ socket is being discontinued . I havent seen any news regarding the steamroller update to current FX processor recently but presumably that will be an AM4 cpu. Its possible that AM4 cpu's will run in AM3+ with some limitations .
Thats definitely how it has been with the last few generations of AMD hardware .
Its also possible that AMD may make 8 core AM2+ cpu's with no graphics core .
Just my speculation , not any knowledge I have .

But the point is not really worth considering . The intel socket 1150 will be discontinued in about 18 months . Intel change sockets every two years

Just changed the gpu in tiny voice's build.Seemed like a no brainer to me

Nice snatch navask. $140 is an amazing price for a Radeon 7870. I will probably add a cooler to your build and change the case to a Tempest 210, other than that, mine will be the exact same parts as yours (and mostly tiny's except for his GPU).

I probably won't oc it that much. I really can't afford to with the mobo. It is just that I want a aftermarket cooler that will keep my cpu cool and will not be loud. I've heard the stock cooler that comes with the FX-6300 is loud and inefficient.
