Hi, I was wondering what would be best for relatively light video rendering as well as music production. I will also do some light gaming as well as daily usage. But the main thing is, what would be better for video rendering and music production?

A 2 core - 4 thread HyperThreaded CPU (i3-4170) vs a super overclockable Pentium G3258.

Specs:
Mobo - ASRock Z97 Anniversary edition
RAM - HyperX Fury 8GB 1866Mhz
GPU - PowerColor Red Dragon Radeon RX 460 4GB GDDR5
275GB SSD + 1TB 7200RPM HDD
Here is a link to the build: http://au.pcpartpicker.com/list/Gfbh9W

Since I have Z97 mobo which I got on sale, should I be oblidged to take advantage of it and overclock?
Would one of the CPUs bottleneck the GPU?

What would perform better in CPU intensive programs? (listed above)
Thanks in advance.

You could actually overclock the G3258 on a $30-40 board, so a Z97 isnt really necessary.

Dont bother getting case fans and a cpu cooler, get the cpu cooler later or if you have the budget for it get it now.

Yes but the thing is, I've already bought the motherboard and I am also going for looks. So I will also be getting the Cryorig C7 no matter what, because in my opinion, it is one of the best looking air coolers. I am going for a Blue & white build so everything is blue/white. I know that I don't need a nice board to OC the G3258 but I bought the Z97 in America for $70 US ($92 AUS). Pretty much everything on my build is staying except for the CPU (I don't know which one to get).
I am just wondering what the best CPU for my use would be.

I will probably upgrade to an i5 4690K or and i7 later on.

Get the i5 4690k, it is in your budget if you can not get the coolers now. The difference between this and the G3258 is mind blowing, for the work that you want to do, more cores and theads are very important. You can overclock the i5 4690k on your Z97 mobo.

Yeah, that's what I was thinking, but since I live in Australia, the i5 is quite expensive and therefore out of my budget right now. I think I'l stick with the i3 4170 for now and upgrade to the i5 later, when I have the money.

Sorry, i hadnt seen before that it was in Australian dollars. Dont bother with cpu cooler and cas fans, you should still be able to afford an i5, even though you wont be able to utilize the overclocking ability of the motherboard since the K processor cost more.

That would be unnecessarily expensive as he will have to replace his motherboard.
