Recently picked up a used laptop with an i3-5010u. This is my first laptop with an Intel CPU. When I initially looked at the specs for this CPU every benchmark had it above the A8-7410 APU. However, I noticed it was very slow from the start. I have completely reset the PC and made sure all the drivers are current.
Task Manager shows the CPU running at 480mhz and Core Temp shows it running at 498mhz and it does not change. I have the laptop set to high performance and keep in plugged in. I've tried increasing the load as much as possible by running games (which run poorly if it's rendering polygons) and the CPU clock never changes. It'll go up to 100% without increasing the clock speed at all.
Any ideas what is going on? I have more experience with AMD CPUs (sadly) and am a bit out of my element here. I've obviously tried Googling for help but haven't came up with anything. Thanks for any advice you might be able to give.
