i3 6100 + gtx 1050 ti(4gb) vs i5 6400 gtx 1050 (2gb)

Honestly, I would save up and get the i5 and 1050 Ti. Reason is, more games are becoming CPU intensive, so that extra core count will help. However, if you are ok with lowering your settings, then getting the i5/1050 2gb combo is your best bet. Again, I would save up.

I say i5 6400 and rx 470. You can get a GIGABYTE Radeon RX 470 G1 Gaming 4GB for $180 + a $20 mail in rebate + a promo code for I think 27 bucks. AF17VGA01 there's the promo code and an rx 470 will stomp all over a gtx 1050 ti.

Go for the i3 6100 + 1050Ti. Just look at this comparison between CPUs http://cpuboss.com/cpus/Intel-Core-i5-6400-vs-Intel-Core-i3-6100 Not only the i3 costs way less but it actually performs better than the i5 thanks to a higher clock speed (3.7 vs 2.7) but it also has hyper threading, which makes it behave like a quad-core.
