Hey, so I'm in need of a budget intel cpu and have heard a lot of good things about the skylake i3's, I can't decide between the i6100 or i6300 though, the 6300 is about £30 more expensive but I can't seem to find many reviews/bench marks on it.

I was wondering if anyone knew if paying the £30 more for the 6300 is worth it? Also apparently skylakes I3 6100 performance can be enhanced when paired with ddr4 ram.. does anyone know if this is also the case for the 6300? Thanks.

Unless you already have plans to upgrade the CPU down the road would invest in the 6300 for longevity (keeping you happy longer). With the Skylake CPUs you can go DDR3 or DDR4 (need to buy mobo accordingly) about the best you'll find in low voltage (appropriate DDR3) will be 1866 -on the flip side DDR4 STARTS at 2133, the wider bandwidth is better and more attuned to the Skylake CPU which are primarily designed for DDR4
For the RAM, both can be paired with DDR4 and this new memory model runs at faster speeds than DDR3, so you'll see an increase in performance with both CPUs, though not a massive one. It's worth pointing out that the price for DDR4 and DDR3 ram sticks are very similar, so you won't be paying a lot more there.
