I3 6100 vs A10 7700K

So im looking into upgrading from my a10 7700k to an i3 6100 i was just wondering how much of a performance gain would i get. Also i dont have the budget for an i5 or i7 as all of my money is going to the mobo ram and processor

The i3 6100 is a solid processor, it would be absolutely worth the upgrade over the A10 7700K. However i would advise you to wait for the i3 7100 to launch soon, it would have almost the same price tag as the i3 6100 and would be a worthwhile boost.

the problem with waiting is the price could be like an extra 20 to 30 dollars which i dont have and all my old parts such as my apu ram mobo and cooler will be going to my father whose computer just died recently

I understand, the i3 7100 is only about a 6% upgrade from the i3 6100.
