I am wanting to play games like csgo and h1z1 but i'm not sure whether to go dual core or quad (the 2 cpus im confused about in title)? any pros and cons? the gpu that i will be using is a gtx 1050. is there any chance of bottlenecking or should i push i little bit to the 3.4ghz quad core i5-7500 to avoid bottlenecking or if theres too much bottleneck go to a gtx 1030

Do you actually own any components at present ??

If not then the newer i3 8100 is better than either & barring mothetboard prices is actually cheaper.

& then youve got the ryzen 1400 with 8 threads which would be beneficial for video editing .

I wpuld take either of those over the skylake cpu's you've listed unless you already own a skylake socket board.

Im on a custom pc site and theres only choice between them two, I wouldnt want to get more than quad core because most games can only utilize 4. I think im gonna go with the quad but now im just wondering about how well the gpu and cpu will go together, thanks

^ no , you're mistaken, a lot of current AAA titles show deficits on quad cores as opposed to chips with more cores or hyperthreading

The days of quads being more than enough for any game are behind us nowadays.

I would saynif those are your only options then absolutely go for the i5.

Personally though I wpuldntnuse a site that only offers those options unless its very very competitive on prices.

Youre buying into what is essentially a defunct socket & platform with skylake.

It has other options but im on a bit of a budget and wanna get a better gpu rather than the best cpu, the main game by about 70% I will be playing csgo and its fairly old and according to many forums it only uses 4 so i wouldnt want to go above that really because I would be spending extra on the uneeded cores, the editing WILL NOT be strenuous on the cpu because it's just cropping and placing really XD

What site actually is it ??

& whats your location & budget?

There's nothing inherently wrong with either intel cpu

A year ago they would have made sense, they don't now though.

The 7350k never made sense anyway in all honesty though , a Pentium g4560,4600 or i3 7100 perform virtually the same for a lot less money.

Its called cyberpower, it has all if them processors available and my budegt for pc is 600$. The price is hella cheaper on that site on pcspecialist same specs are about 800$
