the best all around of the 2 ,i have both builds and like 'em both,but i need some money in a hurry and i'll sell one of them,i don't do gaming but i do multitask a lot and video rendering

The Xeon will still destroy the i3 in heavily threaded workloads like video rendering, but in everything that can't make use of at least 8 threads it will be slower.

So the Xeon is the better choice, but if you upgraded the i3 to an i7-7700K, you'd beat the Xeon again while getting a lower power consumption. So it depends on whether you'd be willing to upgrade the i3 platform in the near future or not.

thanks for the quick response i got my eye on ryzen 7 1700 but for the next three months more or less i'll be using one and then sell it also so i think i keep the Xeon.

The Ryzen will in turn be a lot better, than an i7-7700K at multithreaded workloads, so if you plan on getting a completely new system anyway, that's what you should do, and then keeping the Xeon until then instead of the i3 makes more sense.

I recommended the i3 -> i7 upgrade because I thought you wouldn't want to spend much - if anything at all - on upgrading, the i7 would be the most cost-effective way, but weaker than the Ryzen.
