Hello everyone, I want to replace my nasty dual core i3 7100 so I can render stuff faster, play my games with less stuttering, and sort of multitask like opening chrome while playing and/or streaming without having to see freezes and everything. I have an opportunity to get a new processor until 07/16, so I would like to know if the i3 9100F will be a good option for me. I wanted to get the i5 9400F but I can't afford it. If the improvement from i3 7100 to 9100F is too low I will just keep mine and wait more.

I am. One of my relatives has a spare H110M, he was going to build a budget PC with a Pentium, so I'm gonna give him my motherboard + processor and he's giving me his motherboard.
Well the H110M won't work on the 9100F either, it needs to be a B365/Z390 or, with updated BIOS, a H310, B360, H370 or Z370 board.

Depending on income it may be worth it to wait for the 9400F or consider AMD Ryzen as the additional threads are much better for rendering.

Also as a side note with either most of the Ryzen CPU's or the 9th gen F CPU's it requires a dedicated video card as there's no iGPU.

Sorry, I mean H310M. that supports it, doesn't it? and so the 9100F isn't going to give me a good improvement?
