[SOLVED] i3 9100f on 82f2 mobo

So I m deciding to upgrade my pc for gaming.i currently have i3 7100 cpu and i ll be buying gtx 1650super . But idk I my cpu 'll bottleneck playing on high settings 60 fps . I have seen few benches of I3 7100 and the results were pretty bad compared with i3 9100f. So I decided to upgrade my cputo I3 9100f. But idk if it'llwork on my 82f2 mobo came along with my hp pavilion 570 p013wb. Help pls

Your motherboard will only support 6th and 7th gen CPUs, nothing newer.

Not the power consumption that's the issue.

Its that Intel made 6th and 7th generation compatible motherboards not compatible with 8th and 9th generation and vice versa, even though they technically use LGA1151 both.

The LGA1151 socket used for 8th and 9th Gen is also sometimes referred to as LGA1151v2, since certain changes were made to the pin-layout of the socket itself, which means that despite an 8th or 9th Gen Intel Core CPU will physically fit into the socket on a 6th and 7th Gen compatible motherboard, the CPU won't actually work, because of the altered pin-layout.

There are no BIOS updates or similar, which can overcome that problem - it is a hardware limitation

I suggest you swap your motherboard and go with a Ryzen CPU like a Ryzen 3 3300x for far better value at that price.

I 'll but which mobois cheap and good for ryzen3 3300x here in nepal I don't have that much money I don't even have job to earn I am just 15yo😑 pls suggest me cheap and good mobo for ryzen 3 3300x. I know ryzen 3 3300x is op cputhat can outperform all 7th and even some 9th gen intel cpu

I have the same OEM mobo as you and just remembered It is 65w maximum so a 7700k would not work.

Your current ram is DDR4, so it will work with a new Ryzen CPU, granted it would be either 2133 or likely 2400mhz with your existing system so it is a little slower than ideal.

Any of MSIs B450-max boards will work, though stock is bad right now

Ok I 'll buy b450 mobo that should help ryzen 3 3300x just fine. Right?with 1650super or which gpushould I buy ? And new faster 3200 or 3600 mhz 16gb ram.

But manufacturers said i7 7700k will work fine with no problem on 82f2.
