Question I3 9100f vs Ryzen 5 2600

I need a decent cpu for gaming but also other applications. Which one is better or the best. This will go with a gtx 1050 ti 16gb ddr4 ram.

Found some ram with a b365m h board for the intel separatley from the cpu, and for the same amount of money i can get a ryzen, ram, board altogether.

Ryzen 2600 hands down with the extra threads.

There is talk about the 12nm R5 1600 being faster, even...some strange skew, you would have to search on it. I am not sure how widely available they are.

Speaking as a general Intel guy, 2 of my 3 recent builds are intel;

Go with Ryzen if you're contemplating an i3, they're just not worth the cost given the aged architecture that Intel has been churning out on their endless 14nm++++++++ refreshes,

the am4 socket leaves you open to upgrading for the forseeable future, Intel looks like they're phasing out the 1151 socket
