i3 first generation and i5 4th generation

Guy's i have an intel i3 540 first generation processor, my lga 1156 socket gigabyte motherboard stopped working, i want to buy a motherboard that is compatible with my first gen processor and also if it's possible it should support 3rd or 4th generation processor, as in few months i will be upgrading my processor. Deos such motherboard exists? 😛

very few cpus use LGA1156 and they only support DDR3-1333.

I´d advice you to upgrade CPU and motherboard at the same time. Something with LGA1150 or skylake builds with 1151.

Intel changes sockets frequently. The 2nd and 3rd generation use LGA 1155, 4th and 5th generation use LGA 1150, and 6th generation uses LGA 1151. So none would have cross-compatibility with your 1st generation Core i3.
