Been looking on getting the i5-12600k to replace my now getting old i7-800k , I mostly game and music production on my pc so paired with my 3080 will I get vale out of this upgrade ? Not that I’m having any issues with my 800k
Just now has it awhile . Any comment would be appreciated ;0)

Do you mean the 8700K? (is it running at stock speeds, or on a Z370/Z390 at all core 4.7+ GHz, etc.)

I'd personally refrain from upgrading if you are content/satisfied as is...(certainly, no need to upgrade just on the 'I've had it a while' -feeling, IMO)

AMD has it's AM5 efforts forthcoming, along with Intel's 13th gen...both occurring this year.

(If determined to upgrade, however, the 12600K is quite formidable, and an excellent choice, IMO)
