Question i5-13600K or i7-12700K for new build ?

Hi I'm trying to get a new fresh build, but I have a lot of doubts. Budget 1300€ more or less.

CPU: thinking about the 12700K (320€) or 13600K (308€), I know that the i5 it's better but the temperatures kinda scary me
GPU: 3060 12GB
Mobo: B660-B760? Z690 are so expensive on my country, if I go for the B series I should get DDR4 and Z series DDR5? But idk if it is good to get a ddr4 3600mhz kit with a B series mobo, can B series do XMP?
RAM: DDR4 3200Mhz CL14 same price as DDR4 3600Mhz CL16 and the DDR5 6000Mhz CL36 just 15€ more. All this talking of 2×16GB, idk if it's worth it getting this 2×16GB kit instead of a 2×8GB kit that is like half the price, but I think that is significantly less performance.
Cooler: any good rated water cooler (because of the crazy temps. this cpu's can reach).
Power supply: 700w-750w-800w not sure how many watts do I need
Case: Corsair 4000D Airflow (I already have it)

I will play at 1080p because I'm used to ps4 graphics. Playing games like F1, CSGO, some other shooters like COD and those other mainstream games that everybody plays.
Any suggestion for any of the components will be welcomed.

B760M motherboard; might be DDR4 or DDR5 capable; MSI MAG Mortar series or Gigabyte AORUS series.

i5-13600 or 13600K

If you want DDR 5, look for 5600 or higher

If you want DDR 4, not much difference between 3200 and 3600

I'd avoid water cooling unless you have an extreme situation.

The power usage on the i5 can be controlled to avoid watts and temperatures if you think that is absolutely necessary.

I think that graphics card uses under 200 watts, so I'd think 650 watt PSU would be enough.

Why not water cooling? I've been reading about the 13600k and there is people that says that it can reach very high temperatures, but if you suggest me Air cooling I will listen to you, tell me about any good brand

yeah not sure with intel but timings are usually more important on AMD than intel ddr4 wise !!

another good option is the Intel ARC 770 gpu 16gb and about the same price as the 3060 12gb ..
in fact this is the system im looking at building soon ive already got the ARC770 ( currently paired with the 5600x b550 ) and was going to go a full Intel build with the b760 and 13600k not sure on the ram yet depends on the board but as its just a sh.ts and giggles build may just stick with ddr4 !!

Not sure why you would buy two separate RAM sticks rather than a kit, but I'm sure you have your reasons despite everyone's advice on nearly every RAM-related thread.

I'm running a close build to yours if you use the 12700KF only difference is im using a lower tier mobo and a 3070ti. With my setup its really fast and I can game in 2k with high settings with rtx on getting 80+ FPS. It is tight. the tower cost me around $2000 CDN after tax and labour to get it built, if you built this yourself and sourced your own parts it would be around $1800 CDN after tax. So its within your price range. The only crappy thing is the MOBO is limited its an H610M-HVS 3200mhz DDR4 is its cap and the psu is a 650W Bronze. The 12700KF has a really good stock cooler that is better than most after markets, it is also quiet, it only comes with i7's and i9's. Oh and the build uses SATA III SSD's which is totally fine for the overall savings. You will get a 1440p machine instead of a 1080p machine if you follow this build.

buy known and trusted brands 9/10 times you cant go wrong
always over kill PSU wattage and CPU cooling !!
never mix ram ( had to throw that in there )
never try to save money on the important things to buy that 4090 ( or that over budget part )that is where you will come unstuck !!

ive always had good products from corsair PSU's and Ram , Gskill ram has always been good to me , MSI mobo's have been good , Powercolor gpus ive got like 4 of them all spot on , arctic freezers are my go to AIO's but the Nzxt kraken x63 280s have been solid , noctua fans and coolers also really good ..
My current Asus gene 7800x3d combo has been good no issues ( fingers crossed ) but after the current BS with Asus not sure i will buy another Asus product !!

Yeah but the guy is working with a $1500 budget. In a perfect world I would have the best stuff too but compromises must be made.

disposable income is different for everyone but skimping on certain items that you really shouldnt or saying my 12700k needs a aio but im going to stick a little air cooler on it that may be just enough to save money can cause issues later on like PSU how many times do people go the lowest wattage not thinking about spikes or 80 plus ratings and end up here asking why is my cpu over heating or my pc keeps shutting down !!
or buying cheap ram ( mixed ram to save a dollar ) then cry foul !!
wait for sales of decent items like the corsair , msi , gskill , etc etc ..

To be honest when i plan a build i look at what i want then look at the best bang for my buck if i cant afford a certain thing knowing its what i want and its the best i wait and save !!

Im using the stock i7/i9 cooler for the 12700k and my system is not running hot on load. Unless you are doing some 5ghz + OC'ing which I do not think is necessary since this setup at stock is really fast and boasts high FPS with its automatic built in turbo function.
