Context: My old build from 2014 is dying part by part of a natural death. I’ve replaced ram and GPU and HDD and chassis over the years. Now the motherboard is not working as it should be.

I’m going to embrace its death and build a new one. My usage is usually on 1080 videos, light Gaming, expecting Diablo 4 once I have this built. Some photo editing on photoshop.

My objective is to not overkill.
I am considering reusing my current chassis. But I welcome recommendation on mATX chassis. Prefer not seeing inside.

  1. I5-146000kf
  2. GIGABYTE B760M AORUS Elite AX (LGA 1700/ Intel/ B760/ M-ATX/ DDR5/ Dual M.2/ PCIe 4.0/ USB 3.2 Gen2X
  3. Corsair RMe Series - RM750e - 750W - 80 PLUS® Gold Full Modular

  4. Gigabyte RTX 4060 Eagle OC 8GB PCI-Express Gaming Graphics Card / 128bit, PCI-E 4.0, 3-Fan
  5. CORSAIR VENGEANCE RGB DDR5 RAM 32GB (2x16GB) 6000MHz CL30 AMD EXPO iCUE

  6. Thermalright Peerless Assassin 120 SE CPU Air Cooler, PA120 SE, 6 Heat Pipes, Dual 120mm TL-C12C
  7. SAMSUNG MZ-V8P1T0BW 980 PRO PCIe 4.0 NVMe Gen4 Internal Gaming Solid State Drive, 1TB( os here)

  8. Samsung Electronics 980 PRO SSD with Heatsink 2TB PCIe Gen 4 NVMe M.2 Internal Solid State Hard (Storage)

Using existing cm694 for chassis.

Post advice. Below is my revised built.
Happy to hear more feedback!

Your case is fine, save a bit and plan on reusing it.
Your parts are not unusually hot and likely you can reuse it.
The requirements for diablo 4 are not very high.
High
  • OS: 64-bit Windows® 10 version 1909 or newer.
  • Processor: Intel® Core i7-8700K or AMD Ryzen™ 2700X.
  • Memory: 16 GB RAM.
  • Graphics: NVIDIA GeForce® RTX 2060 or AMD Radeon™ RX 5700 XT or Intel® Arc™ A770.
  • DirectX®: Version 12.
  • Storage: SSD with 90 GB available space.
  • Internet: Broadband Connection.
Even a i3-13100 would be plenty. the included cooler would be fine.
But, I would have no problem with a i5-14600K.
I would not try to go cheap and save$25 to buy the KF version.
Having integrated graphics will save you if you have gpu issues.
I would build first with integrated graphics and see how you do.
You will then have a better idea of just how strong you need graphics to be.
The peerless cooler is well reviewed and is appropriate.

The cpu can run a much stronger graphics card in the future.
To allow for that, spend $20 more for the 850w version of that psu, it is excellent.
A psu will only use the power demanded of it, regardless of the max capability.
4060 seems like a good choice.

While the game only needs 16gb of ram, I like the 2 x 16gb kit.
Intel is not sensitive to ram, but I think I would pass on the expo ram which is intended for amd systems. The intel equivalent is called xmp.
You will pay a bit more for rgb. No sense there if you will have the case buttoned up.
G.skil is another good ram alternative.

There is no performance advantage to using two ssd devices.
I would start with a single 2tb ssd(samsung if fine) and plan on adding storage if/when it fills up.
It is easiest to manage a single large space.

Good point on the SSD. I could build with an initial 2TB SSD.
Point noted on a higher power PSU for futureproof.

Waiting for Black friday deals on Amazon.

I would suggest something like this:

Current best CPU

AM5 mobo with pcie 5.0 ssd support and next gen ryzen chips

better GPU than the 4060

SSD with good random read write performance

case with front panel type C

ATX 3.0 PSU with 16 pin power connector
