I don't recommend upgrading that system but if you must upgrade check the manufacture for the CPU compatibility list.
if I had that computer I would save my money and get a new computer
I sure wish. Currently it has an additional 24Gig ram GTX 1060, 500gbSSD and upgraded P/S. Works great for gaming but the CPU is always pushing 95% plus on games like BF1. Was hoping to find a decent upgrade cpu thats compatible for a fraction of a new PC
in that case then look for a I5-2500 will be best. if you go i7 you will need more cooling like a better seek and the board mite fit over it as it will use all of the power delivery on it so can you say toast it
Thank you for the response. That was one i had researched, the other being an i7-2600. But Your saying the i7-2600 would need a better heatsink? Both of those two were listed as 99% upgrade compatibility chance on cpu-upgrade.com which was the two highest among the list.
