I5-2310 for Gaming for $165

Amazon is now selling an Intel i5-2310 processor for $165.

Is it worth it? Or would it be better to buy an i5-2500K or i5-3570K ($200). I am on a pretty tight budget. Also, would it bottleneck a GTX 660 Ti? I do not plan on overclocking, if any.

Get the i5-2310, its plenty fast, and ur not planning on OC'ing anyway Sweet deal for the price, and no its not gonna bottleneck that 660

However, if you do plan to OC down the road, remember that even this "locked" i5-2310 can OC by 4 bins, ie, by upto 400MHz more. 😀

wow... I got my i5-3570k @ microcenter for 169.99

I did order an i5-2500K at Microcenter online for $146 (shipping included) but they canceled my order because the listing was a mistake :/

And since no Fry's nor Microcenter store is located near me, I can't buy any of their deals in-store (Fry's has also canceled my i5-3570K and motherboard combo for $190).

God I hate getting my orders canceled.

Get the i5-3470 on amazon, it's 15$ more, but it's an ivybridge cpu, it's worth the extra $.

Get the i3-3220, it's great for gaming, will save you money so you can buy a 7870 or 7950. In gaming the GPU is almost always the bottleneck, so spend more on that.
