I5 2310 vs. I7 3770

the newest BIOS for my mobo ASUS P8H67H-LE came out this week improving system stability, and the CPU support list has the IVY's supported. Yeah man. I5 2310 to 3770 is possible.

How much difference will this make? When I chose to go Sandy Bridge, I wanted to go up big from the Q9550S but avoid the I5 2500 and I7 Sandy for when this came

Q9550 vs 3770k, but close enough. You can also choose to compare against the 2500.

The 3550 is on sale for $199.99 with promo code at newegg. It's a good cpu for value. The asus p8h67h-LE doesn't support overclocking except for "turbo mode", so getting a "k" series cpu is a waste of money. http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16819116505

I have a 2310 already. The 2300 is slower but when I bought it from Amazon that was more expensive than the 2310
