Hello.

Currently i have i3 2120 with 1050 (2 gb, not ti), 1155 lga.

Since gpus are getting cheaper, im planning to buy something better in few months, most likely 1060 but i dont know yet, not 1070 tho or anything like that.

Now i want to switch cpu to something with actual 4 cores.
Our country used market is small and expensive compared to UK, Canada etc. These are the only options really, 2500k for example costs twice more.

2400 is just slightly cheaper than 3470s. According to userbenchmark 3470s is 7% faster, plus its more recent and has less tdp, i assume it makes it better
http://cpu.userbenchmark.com/Compare/Intel-Core-i5-2400-vs-Intel-Core-i5-3470S/803vsm6387

3470 is 12% faster than 2400
http://cpu.userbenchmark.com/Compare/Intel-Core-i5-2400-vs-Intel-Core-i5-3470/803vs2771
and 5% than 3470s
http://cpu.userbenchmark.com/Compare/Intel-Core-i5-3470S-vs-Intel-Core-i5-3470/m6387vs2771
but its 30% more expensive. So i guess its not worth it?

I would apreciate some confirmation, am i reading it right, or is the userbenchmark not a good way to compare them and in real world 3470 will be a lot better than s (or 2400 is the best option for some other reason)?

Solution
Bios is ok.
I would definitely rule out the i5-2400. Between the two following i5-3470 and i5-3470s there is little difference but since the two are at the limit of what is required by a gtx 1060 I would cogeria the best. (but it is a particular opinion, you must decide if the small improvement is worth $ 15).
Userbenchmark gives you an idea but do not take it as the absolute truth.

The three cpu are at the limit of what you need a gtx 1060 to not have excessive bottleneck.

For games the most relevant is the maximum frequency you can get.
I5-2400 3.1GHz base 3.4GHz boost
I5-3470S 2.9GHz base 3.6GHz boost
i5-3470 3.2GHz base 3.6GHz boost
As between ivy bridge and sandy bridge there is a difference of IPC of 3% or 4% we can say that i5-2400 has an equivalent boost of 3.28GHz only.

I would recommend that you take the I5-3470 or the I5-3470s

So that we can help you better give us your complete specifications (mobo, monitor res., psu...) and the price in dollars that you are asked for each cpu.

Remember that if you have a second-generation mobo you should make sure that you have the updated bios to put a third generation cpu.

Thank you.

2400 is around 35 USD
3470s is 40$
3470 is 55$

My mobo:
Asus P8H61-M LX R2.0 , BIOS 1204 (i think its the newest one)

PSU is 450W be quiet! 80+ silver, cant remeber exact name

Monitor 23' 1080p

Bios is ok.
