Hi, I'm thinking to upgrade my laptop, but I don't know what to do. It's really good old laptop, but have very weak graphics card geforce GT 525M.

1) Do nothing, and save money for new laptop/PC,

2)Upgrade i5 to i7, buy 8-16 gb ram, SSD(ram and ssd goes to new laptop in future).

I don't expect play newest games on ultra, but wanna have laptop for few years in future, play +-2010 - 2012 games, some cad/cam software, + comfy speed when booting, and loading. So maybe somebody help? :)

I do not wish to under or over estimate your abilities or technical prowess. I will just say that the processors on some notebooks have swappable processors and some do not. In the ones that do it is not an easy task to replace them without knowing...

I do not wish to under or over estimate your abilities or technical prowess. I will just say that the processors on some notebooks have swappable processors and some do not. In the ones that do it is not an easy task to replace them without knowing what you're doing. That said, I am never one to discourage such things if that's really what you want to do, just realize you're running a risk.

Moving from an i5 to an i7 in your laptop is not going to give you any noticeable performance increases in gaming. The real weak link is your GT 525M and there is no way around that. I am going to assume you have 4GB of Ram right now, If you do then moving to 8GB and adding an SSD will give you noticeable performance from your laptop, but not in gaming. It will be quicker and more responsive and most likely have a slightly better battery life (assuming your battery is still pretty good) but it won't really improve your gaming performance.

Over all I would probably just start saving for another laptop.
