I5 2500 or i5 3550 for gaming?

What is the difference between the two CPUs? (i5 2500, i5 3550) Which is more expensive and which is best for a gaming rig?

the i5 2500 is last years version of the cpu. the i5 3550 is newer (hence there is a 3) and faster. The 3550 should be more expensive and better.

Seems both processors are currently the same price ($209 at NewEgg), the 3550 (Ivy bridge) has Intel HD2500 graphics while the 2500 (Sandy Bridge) has Intel HD2000 graphics. Of the two, the newer 3550 would be my choice, I personally don't understand the pricing there.
