i5-2500K bottlenecking GTX 980?

I have a i5-2500K cpu overclocked to 4.5 GHZ with 2 GTX 680s in SLI. I'm looking to upgrade my system with a GTX 980. Would my CPU bottleneck the GTX 980 upgrade?

Thats a negatory. There is no way a 2500k @ 4.5 will bottleneck a 980.

No it won't bottleneck. But I am not sure a 980 is an upgrade from 680 SLI

Very true, but leaves room to add another down the road, but for the price of a 980 might as well buy 2 970's and spend a bit more.

680 SLI to a single 980 is not really an upgrade imo unless microstuttering is really a problem. It's actually a downgrade. I suggest you waiting further more until the new series.

Agree that it is a downgrade except in games that don't support multi-GPU.

Could you maybe up your budget and get a 970 SLI setup?
