AS the question says i5 3470 compatible with all types of ram? I have 8gb of ddr3 1066 mhz ram. will it work?

yes it will work, but its also depends on the mobo you have.
but are you sure its 1066mhz, what ram do you have then.

If your motherboard supports that frequency of RAM then you should not have an issue. However, you will definitely have performance improvements if you upgrade to at least 1600 memory. Do you know what motherboard you have?
