i5-3470, i5-4460, i5-4570 differences

Solution
The difference between i5-3XXX and i5-4XXX is one of a generation. 3X is Ivy bridge, 4X is haswell. The difference being some 5-6%.

Then we have to compare what those XXXes stand for, which is made less transparent by the fact that the first number of that also went up on. So the ivy bridge 470 can be compared to the haswell 570.
And then higher is generally better. 4570 has a higher turbo rate than the 4460.
However, due to the generational differenece the 4460 probably outperformes the 3470 still.
So 4570 > 4460 > 3470

I am assuming you have a dedicated GPU, otherwise there's differences in the iGPU as well.

Oh, and they fit in different motherboards. An ivy bridge chip won't fit in a haswell board and vice versa.

Bottom...
i5-3470 Gen 3 3.2Ghz, 3.6Ghz boost
i5-4460 Gen 4 3.2Ghz, 3.4Ghz boost this is the newest of the 3 chips you selected and is roughly 10% faster then the gen 3 3470 chip. my vote would be this one
i5-4570 Gen 4 3.2Ghz, 3.4Ghz boost both 4460 and 4570 are the same but this one also has Intel® vPro Technology, Trusted Execution Technology nether will help with gaming.

Bottom line: 4570 is better than the 3470 although not spectacularly so. Whether that is worth $25 to you is personal.

Solution

Depends whether the game is CPU intensive or GPU intensive. Also depends on which game cause some require faster processor
