Hello Dear Forum,

i am planning to buy a new GPU for my old rig. i have i5-3470, 16GB DDR3, gtx 770, Windows 7.

I was about to get a GTX 1060 6 GB for ~170€ but now i get a friend recommending put 50€ extra and getting a vega56 8 GB instead.

Is that a good idea? I am afraid of Bottleneck.. because I am not planning to upgrade anything in next 2 years. So should i better get gtx 1060 or vega56?

thx and greetz

Gtx 1060 6gb will work, but bottleneck has bin problem. 15% +/-

The vega 56 will get you much more performance but with that CPU you will lose some performance from bottle-neck. a 1060 will keep you around 40-60 FPS on high-ultra depending on the AAA game.

Thank you so much for all your replys.
So i heard a vega56 is considered as a very loud card, depending on card design... so if the card will bottleneck, the card wont go on 100% usage, so fans wont go for 100% power and that would mean card wont be so loud, am i right?

In general.....that's the idea....but a lot of it is going to depend on the game etc.
If the game isn't CPU heavy for example....the card may go to 100%.

If you want an even cheaper option, try looking for an RX-580 (unless it is more expensive than the GTX-1060s in your region). It will perform better or equal in most cases, than the GTX-1060 and should be cheaper. I can't recommend the GTX-1060 since it is worse in every metric compared to RX-580 except power consumption.
