The I5-2500.

These 2 cpus are both locked quad core and have very similar clock speeds, but one has a 95w TDP, and the other a 77w TDP. Even though TDP only applies to base clocks for Intel cpus, the 2 cpus in question are so similar, that the 95w I5-2500 should be the hotter chip.

Both in the same system? Both with the same cooler?

Even if both of the above are "yes", another factor is that the 2500 uses solder between the CPU die and heatspreader while the 3470 uses thermal paste, which means the 2500 could run cooler even if it's using more power. The i5-3470 could also register higher temps all else being equal because it uses a denser process node.

Why do you want to know?
