Hey guys, so I've managed to OC my 3570k to 5.0 Ghz @1.380v (CPU-Z however says it is only hitting 1.368v and dipping to 1.344v, unsure if that's accurate or not but it seems to adjust in real time so I would think it is) Anyways I'm currently running prime95 and have been for almost 30 minutes now without fail, the core temps haven't exceeded 81c and are staying averaged between 68c-74c. I'm probably going to bring the voltage down to around 1.370v or 1.375v to help with heat. My specs are as follows:

2 - EVGA 460 GTX GDDR5 768 mb in SLI

1 - MSI Z77A-G45 Gaming LGA 1155 Intel Z77 HDMI SATA 6Gb/s USB 3.0 ATX Intel Motherboard

1 - Intel Core i5-3570K Ivy Bridge 3.4GHz (3.8GHz Turbo) LGA 1155 77W Quad-Core Desktop Processor Intel HD Graphics 4000 BX80637I53570K

1 - Crucial Ballistix Sport 8GB 240-Pin DDR3 SDRAM DDR3 1600 (Overclocked to 1800mhz, stable)

2 - COOLER MASTER R4-BMBS-20PK-R0 Blade Master 120mm Case Fans

1 - CORSAIR Hydro series H50 High Performance Liquid CPU Cooler

1 - Rosewill BRONZE Series RBR1000-M 1000W Continuous@40°C, 80Plus Bronze Certified,Modular Cable Design,ATX12V v2.3/ EPS12V,SLI Ready,CrossFire Ready,Active PFC"Compatible with Core i7, i5" Power Supply

3 - 19" Hanns-G HW191D LCD Monitors

1 - Antec Three Hundred Black Steel ATX Mid Tower Computer Case (I have 2 fans running at 2000RPM on the front, one on the side at 1200rpm for my GPUs, one at the back and one 140mm on the top at 2000RPM. Airflow is phenomenal)

When I'm not running Prime95 the temps are very cool between 25c and 40c. I've had zero issues so far, what would you guys say?

Solution
LLC or load line calibration on there is called "CPU Core Vdroop Offset Control".
Its set to Auto, which equals to about 0.010v in Vdroop.

Try this. Run a prime95 for 30 mins and record your highest and lowest voltages.
Then set it to 80% Vdroop offset and see what you get.

I ran Prime95 for exactly an hour before I decided to close it, when I did close it it still had 0 errors. And yes, the CM fans are on the H50 :) I'm also only using the default thermal paste that came with the H50, I was going to use arctic silver originally but the temps have been well within an acceptable range so I didn't see the need. The PC is still up and running with 0 issues.

I'm rather new to overclocking but from what I've read about delidding I don't believe I have. I just installed it out of the box and put the H50 on it :) Should I delid it? Also, I only have one CM fan (the stock H50 fan was really cheap so I just have it cooling my GPUs instead I plan on picking up another CM for a push/pull effect.

Well dang, in that case I'm quite a happy camper right now! :D

And yeah, I was thinking about lowering the voltage. What would you say to set it to?

Well for a 24/7 OC, I should say 1.3v at most. :D

I did get a BSOD running it at 1.31 but the actual voltage as told my CPU-Z was in the 1.280v range. I'll continue to move it down until I get it totally stable. As far as 24/7 goes though I shut my PC down every night to prolong the lifetime of my hardware and my energy bill (Plus it's hard as hell to sleep in the same room with all these fans going!) so it usually doesn't peek past 10 hours of usage at a time.

How would I go about that exactly? I may have achieved a good OC, but as I said I'm still a newb to this

which of these settings allow me to modify the value you're describing?

*And yes, these are two different boards but they have the same options, I own the G45

that is pretty awesome.....im only running a hyper 212 4.5ghz oc. v set to 1.192. runs between that and 1.208 under load. stable and all but after an hour or so of blend i can hit 78c. though its a torture test so i dont give a fark. intense gaming never hits 70c. grats on 5.0 with such low temps

I set it to 50% and it didn't like it very much. For whatever the reason might be I tried playing Dark Souls and it BSOD'ed, meanwhile it ran Prime95 fine and was running for 4 hours with no issues. Kinda got me stumped to be honest. I've bumped it back to 4.2 ghz as it's plenty for now :) No need to kill my processor for some bragging rights.

Stock volts at 0.912v :) I had it stable at 4.5 ghz at 1.210v, I just haven't set it back to it yet.

Oh, well that's what CPU-Z told me anyways. I set my settings back to default so as far as I know it should be stock volts.

Like Novuake said, it's probably just dynamically adjusting itself, I did set the voltage to stock in bios. 4.2ghz is fully stable though, I've had this clock going since I built my PC. Never a single issue.
