So i am new to overclocking and not really sure what I should be looking for. I was able to get 4.5 and run Prime 95 for an hour with no errors and only +0.012 turbo voltage. I don't want a crazy overclock as I don't have the best cooling. Are these temps and voltages normal?

My setup:

  • i5 3570k
    Hyper 212 Evo
    Noctua NT-H1 Paste
Overclock settings:

  • 4.5 Ghz
    Offset: 0.005v
    Turbo: 0.012v
Results

  • CPU-Z Core Voltage: 1.224
    Idle Temp: 30C
Prime 95 Max Load Temp: 74C

Based on the information you provided it seems like you have a golden chip and your other components must be good.

Based on your idle temps your room must be cool.

My 3570k had an idle temp of 35-40 C with a comparable cooler and my max OC was 4.2 Ghz

4.5 with a load voltage of 1.224 is impressive for that chip.

Yeah I noticed after looking around that these voltages are quite low compared to other people. I will have to do more tests and see how it holds up but hopefully it is because I have a good chip. And yes my room is cool I'm freezing :(

Yes I did some gaming on Arma 3 and ran a benchmark in Cinebench. The max temp recorded was 61C which I think is fine?

For that overclock it is great! Most people are nipping 1.4 volts Vcore to get their chips there.
