Hey guys, I just built a new system and everything is running fine. I am running:
i5 3570k
Asus Sabertooth z77

I have updated to the latest bios, and everything is kept stock.

I then downloaded cpu-z, and ran it with my cpu at idle. My multiplier fluctuates between 37 and 38, but I have not touched any overclocking settings... Is there a reason why?

Also, in the UEFI, I noticed a setting called "load optimized defaults", should I do this? What does it do?

Thanks

What you are experiencing is Turbo Boost technology feature that your 3570k offers, dynamic overclocking of certain core(s) depending on variables such as load, current and thermal load.

As far as the load optimized defaults(F5) it just loads all default parameters in the setup menu's to where there original settings that the board came with out of the box.
