I overclocked my CPU to 4.6GHz and my temps are high under Prime95. I'm using an H80i, performance preset.

My voltage is relatively low (1.280v), why am I reaching these temps? Is the cooler not seated right or perhaps the TP is dry?

P.S: I have a NH-D14 laying around, should I install that?

Thanks.

You could try using your Noctua air cooler and see how it performs. This will help you narrow the problem down to either the cpu or the h80i. If the cpu is reaching high temps even under the noctua then its probably the chip and you might have to delid it.

Normally you would not expect those temps at a vcore of 1.28v

Should I lower the voltage?

Reseating is the last option for me as I don't have any iso on me.

Ah, that's too bad. I think I'm going to revert the OC back to 4.2GHz. At least then I have temps below 60c.
