i5 3570k running too fast

Hello. im just wondering why this is happening its not like im worried or anything. fps while gaming are still good, computer is doing all i want smoothley.

i have a rather fresh install of Win10 and Taskmanager says that my cpu is sometime running at speeds over 4ghz ive seen like 4.4 even tho it says maximum speed 3.4 i've never overclocked it and as long as it is preforming like it has im not going to, but i thinks its odd.

i dont have better monitoring software installed so i havent checked the temps i think they are pretty good because i have a h100i

can someone explain

if you motherboard has a Z series chip set then i would check the bios and see if any overclocking profiles were enabled at some point or just reset the BIOS to defaults

Verify with another program. CPU-Z is one option that can give you your CPU's clockspeed.
