My temp stock speeds and a stock cooler is 65-70c while playing crysis 3. My browsing floats around 37-40. And idle around 33-34c. Are these acceptable temps?

Solution
Not true, its starts throttling around 90-100c.

Anyway, on stock temps that seems fine, and yeah, if you can: get a Hyper 212 Evo, would help a bit in temps, and its dirt cheap.

But still, those temps look fine for Ivy Bridge.
I couldn't tell u the exact ambient but it's definitely not hot. My feet are kinda cold right now lol. What do you mean by cpu throttling? Does that mean that when my i5 hits 70c it downclocks to lessen heat?

Thank you everyone for the help. I've tried resetting the cpu fan many times w/ new thermal paste but I guess stock cooler just sucks lol. I appreciate everyone's advice.. One more thing... Will the weight of the hyper 212 bend my motherboard at all? Also, how much space do you think is needed? I have a cooler master elite case.

Really? I've read around that it starts around 70. Well, good to know. Is it just that you'll start damaging your chip after 70? idk. Regardless, the guys temps are fine.

Which Elite? 430? I have one and from what I've found it will fit with only a few mm to spare. Mine's arriving tomorrow (212 EVO).

Nah, you'll start damaging your chip after 105c, so it starts the thermal throttle around 90-95c. (this is ivy of course)

The Hyper 212 shouldn't bend your motherboard, it isn't as heavy as it looks, however it may not fit in your case, see this post.
