Simple request for advice on unbalance idle temperatures - have tried searching but the main bar doesn't seem to cover the forum??
I have a new i5-3570k with Arctic Cooler Freezer 13 on Asus Z77 MB. In an Antec P182 case, full fans.
It was assembled and pre tested by Scan (cheaper pre-assessmbled) - they were supposed to apply a moderate overclock but not seen signs to suggest they have so far. Temperatures below.
At idle (1.6GHz, 1.04V) Core temp shows, ambient probably 18-20ish:
- #0 38C
- #1 18C
- #2 23C
- #3 21C
On Prime 95 blended test (3.6Ghz, 1.2209V)
- #0 60C
- #1 57C
- #2 62C
- #3 58C
Would be helpful to understand if unbalanced Core #0 is usual at idle or whether it suggests a potential problem in fitting or component. Will intend to overclock in 2013 (once I've got used to how much faster it is than my Q6600!!) would like to ensure I have a good chance of stable around 4GHz.
Help much appreciated.
