i5 3750K temperatures and cooling

Hi guys

Lately I've been doing some monitoring of my CPU temperatures while gaming and find it a bit high for my taste. The CPU uses the stock cooler and the system is a micro-ATX so the airflow in the case could also be an issue.

I would really like to hear from people, running the same processor with stock cooler what temperature they are getting when gaming.

The most intensive game that I've played so far seems to BF3, which gave me a max core temperature of 71-72. I know it's not dangerously high yet but it seems a bit too close to the acceptable limit... or is it just a temperatue that I will have to live with stock cooling?

Also if I were to get a new cooling system what would be a cheap and most quite solution?

Edit: By the way I should mention that this is not an overclocked system and I don't intend it to be until the system is getting to old to keep up.

I have the same processor like u and i also use stock cooler that came with it, but i have a Thermaltake Full tower Overseer so i have plenty of airflow. My rig is for gaming purpose only and my Gpu is Msi gtx 660 ti- my temperature while gaming- like WoW, GTA4, Tera, LoL, Steam Dota2, and i simultaneously run like 3 games at one point and my temperature never went above 65degrees. I think your issue here is your casing and your temp looks normal with a microATX. Ive been planning to buy a Hyper evo 212 from cooler master for my cooler and my case have the sufficient space for it. Yours on the otherhand is a miniITX so that wouldnt be an option for you. Either buy a good cooler for your case or upgrade the case and get a cheap but...

What gpu are u using btw?

Thanks for the reply.
Yeah I know the micro-ATX system isn't the best choice for gaming and other heavy processing but I really enjoy the small casing and I don't think I will make any comprimise to get a bigger case.
As a reference I can mention that my GPU max temp. was 75 c', which I'm fairly happy with considering the small case airflow.

I will probably end up with buying an aftermarket cooler but, as you said I will be needing one that fits into the system. What I don't get is that you mention mini-ITX?? Are you saying that I will have to look for a cooler that can fit into a mini-ATX if it should be able to fit into a micro-ATX?

Any suggestions for good coolers that can fit into a micro-ATX system are very welcome...

Hmm well never considered this one, which kind of sucks since I just bought 8 GB RAM Corsair Vengance 😀. Any way to determine this without getting out the ruler? :)

The Cooler Master's Hyper 212 Evo will most likely fit or else an all-in-one liquid cooler solution like the Corsair H60 will fit most mobo sizes. For the latter option a good indication will be if you have a case with a 120mm fan mount. If so, you're most certainly set.
