Recently I just built my gaming rig... Also just got into streaming video gameplay online as well... Well I didnt take that into consideration at the time of the build and feel my CPU is lacking

Currently when I stream, I use low settings in Titanfall and 720p to stream with OBS...

I have been getting lag spikes and decided to look in my task manager performance tab to see my CPU load...

Well I noticed while streaming my CPU low is always %90-99 usage at all times...

So I was wondering how much would the i7-4770K help me stock clocked over the i5 I currently have? Is it a big upgrade?

It would help (as it has 8 threads), but an i5 is by no means a small cpu. What is your gpu? You shouldn't be able to play on high settings, as my q6600 could max the beta

My GPU is the GTX 650Ti. I can play with med-high settings when not streaming but when I turn my stream on my CPU usage spikes from 50 to pretty much 100 percent instantly! And that is using low stream settings as well to reduce CPU strain.

I have the same card. I'm not that familiar with streaming, but it should be fine. Do you have anything else open while streaming? And also, does the streaming software used all threads? Also, do you have 4 or 8gb RAM?

Have you tried without skype? And maybe your internet isn't taking the strain. For example, the internet here is awful (Australia), might as well be made of strings and prit stick.

Is it only titanfall that does this? Have you tried any other games>
