I have an i5-4440 and my ole' HD 7950 died about a week ago and I want to get something that's going to be a huge jump in performance.

I was looking at 970 sli or even 980 sli if I found them cheap enough on black friday, but would my CPU bottleneck it?

I have enough power, I'd also have to get a motherboard that supports SLI since I'm using a b85 board atm.

thoughts?

The i5-4440 is a great cpu. It won't bottle neck even a gtx 980ti in sli. A single gtx 980ti would be the best option. Sli generates double the heat and uses double the power of a single card, but doesn't double the performance. It also causes problems. A single gtx 970 is probably enough for current games, but a gtx 980ti would be good for future-proofing.
