I5 4440 overclocking!

Solution

yeah those are locked out because your not using a 'k' processor, and likely even if you had one, they would still be locked. they are just part of the same bios that higher end z97 boards use. otherwise your cpu frequency is the multiplier/ratio. yours should be at 31x and it turbos up to 33x or 34x(100mhz), or whatever your turbo speed is. you have base clock in there somewhere too that is at 100.00mhz, but you shouldn't touch that at all as you could possibly damage other components. you have a very good processor that you could pair right now with...

Fair warning, increasing BCLK overclocks lots of other things besides your CPU, things that shouldn't or dont like being overclocked. This could result in component (video card, hard drives, motherboard) damage, you have been warned!

non k series are multiplier locked, you can change the BCLK from 100, to perhaps 101 or 102. Most motherboards don't like going much higher then a few mhz on this.

Its not worth the risk for the very small boost you could get. If you want to overclock, get a 'k'.

I am having gtx 750 ti and 8 gb ram.
I was getting low frames in assassin creed unity thats why i wanted to overclock my cpu.

Spend your money on a better GPU, that is how you will get better in-game performance.

What is your budget for an upgrade, where are you ordering from and what is your complete specs (to estimate total wattage because 750Ti is very low power)?

750ti, thats your problem, instead of spending on a cpu/mobo combo for overclocking, get a good video card, like a GTX 970, or a R9 290.

on boards that support it, you can go up to a 40x ratio/multiplier on locked intel skus. your getting low frames in unity because it is a crap game right now with horrible efficiency.

as far as your gigabyte board... what revision is it... 1.0 or 2.0... and what bios revision do you have? you probably just need a bios update and it will unlock the multipliers for you.

as far as a gpu upgrade...

hmmm sorry bro. news to me, intel completely locked haswell processors. in the past for sandy bridge and ivy bridge locked processors, you could go four bins above stock which allowed some to get up to 4.0ghz depending on the cpu sku. but they changed this.... news to me, i guess i fell asleep on this on.

anyways, for most games, you dont need to overclock to get more performance. your 4440 is still a fairly fast quad core.

Is 3.1 ghz enough for gaming and what is turbo boost in bios.
In bios there r some option like changing cpu frequency, ratio, voltage and i tried changing them but nothing works.
