Hello, I'm thinking about buying two GTX 970s to SLI, one now and the other one in maybe 6 months or a year.
Anyway, I want to know if an i5-4460 is enough for running it, or should I wait 'til I have more budget and get an i5-4670?
If the i5-4670 is necessary, the truth is I have mixed feeling about getting the K version for overclocking, since I want the CPU to last, and at the same time I'd like to try the free extra power and see if OCing does really make a difference in games.
Also, the only GTX 970 version available in my country is the Gigabyte G1 Gaming, and I've read it's huge. I already have the case, and both cards can perfectly fit in the case. But I'm a little concerned about if the mobo I'm planning to buy (Gigabyte GA-Z97X-SLI) gives enough room for plugging both of them.
At this time, the only thing I've bought is the case, since it was on sale. It's an Aerocool Strike-X ONE Advance
This is what I'm planning to buy:
Mobo: Gigabyte GA-Z97X-SLI
PSU: Corsair CX750M - 750w 80+
RAM: Kingston HyperX FURY DDR3, 1600MHz, 8GB
HDD: Seagate Barracuda 1TB 7200 RPM
Maybe I'll get an SSD, but I'm not really thinking about it right now. My current monitor is 1440p.
And, I'll be playing games like BF4, Dragon Age, Crysis 3, Far Cry 4, GTA V, Skyrim, Middle Earth Shadow of Mordor and games like that.
