What i was wondering if you got more fps than the refresh rate of the monitor.Might well be that a 4770(K) wiil be all you need to get 100% out of the 1070.If in the future maybe upgrading monitor to higher res (guess you use 1080p now) will the gpu mostly be bottleneck again.
Looked at this one and in most is the gpu at ~100%,

In Australia on ebay there are 4770's for 200 AUD. I could spend some more on what you suggested but I love my low cost.
Could you recommended some Cpu, mobo etc. I could still only spend only 400 to 500 AUD...
Thanks

200 AUD is approx £100 so that’s not bad and changes things a bit, especially if you sell your 4460.

If you were to invest in a modern platform then the i5 8400/8600k are good performers for their price, similar to i7 7700/7700k, the 8600k is very marginal ahead. On the AMD side the 2600 is a great choice. Don’t know what the prices are like in Australia, I believe new pc parts are expensive.

Does your gpu go to 100% when gaming? MSI afterburner should give a decent picture.
Also which monitor? If 60hrz could you well be over that even with this cpu and is it well enough, unless you're maybe a csgo player who seem to want as much as possible ....

There are other upgrades as well like ssd if not having one ...

Selling my mobo and ram as well for a few hundred on ebay could give me some more for an intel system. You definitely would buy used in Australia as new price are high, eg. $200 for 8gb of ddr4 or 400 for and i5 8400. I would probably go for the amd side of things as there are more am4 upgrades vs 1151 because of 1151 v2. A 1600 in australia you can pick up for 200 vs 300 for a 2600.

My gpu never goes to 100% but neither does my cpu, well often anyway. I have overclocked my monitor to 75 hertz and no I am not playing csgo.
