should i go with the 4460 or the 6500 build? im on a budget and i also have to save up for a better vid card like a 750 ti or 950 so is the 6500 worth extra cash? gonna be used for 3d rendering video editing and some games like gta v

Solution

An i3 outperforming an i5, of the same generation? I seriously doubt that. Got any proof?
Edit: OP if you want to do rendering, and you're on a budget, an i5 will work fine. An i3 is a good CPU, but its only a dual core, it just can't keep up with an i5 in video rendering. In gaming, they perform more similarly. You do not need an i7 for rendering unless you absolutely don't mind paying an extra $100 for the somewhat small performance gains.
Edit 2: Go for whatever is easier to purchase. Skylake isn't a huge performance jump. Mostly just extra features and some power savings. If you don't need native NVME support, extra pci-e...
If you are doing 3d Rendering the 6500 and the 4460 aren't going to be good. A good CPU for 3D Rendering is I3 6100 though if you want to play GTA and do 3d Rendering you need at least an I7.

This can run GTA V and do 3D rendering.

hi mate thanks for the reply and info are those usa prices? i live in Australia so it will cost alot more for me i think and i just wanna buy a pre built machine/ atm iam using a Toshiba qosmio laptop with a i7 q740 cpu and been doing 3d work with that so if the i5 4460 or 6500 will be a improvement from that ill be very happy 😀

The NEX 650G is poor quality. A simple unit like the XFX TS 550 would be better.

That video shows the i3 consistently running 10 fps lower than the i5, in gaming. I said they would be similar. And that shows nothing of video rendering. Thank you for proving my point and wasting my time.
