Good morning friends, how are u?
I am kind of lost here cause I cant get my PC any better, tried everything but it seems my knowledge is limited. I appreciate if you guys can help me (sry for my english its not my main language). First of all, my setup:

- CPU i5 4570
- Motherboard Asrock Extreme3 Z87
- PSU Corsair 600w Cx600M
- GPU GeForce GTX 970 MSI Gaming 4Gb
- 8 Gb RAM Corsair Vengeance 1600 Mhz
- SSD Samsung EVO 750 - 250gb
- Windows 10 Pro
- Monitor Philips 144hz
- Cooler TX3
- Case Thermaltake V4

I purchased this computer on October 2013, some updates have been done since then, for example the SSD that I got in the beginning of this year, the GPU that I upgraded last year, and so on. I don't care that much for graphics, I enjoy playing multiplayer FPS so I would rather performance (frames) than quality of image. As I own a 144hz monitor, I turn settings all low on every game.

CS GO:
Ive been noticing constant drops on fps. My res is 1024x768 stretched, everything on LOW, and still I get around 200 FPS, dropping to ~180 when close to bombs or cross-fire. Something is not right, I used to get around 300 FPS constant, something is happening on my computer. Frames drop like that jeopardize my game play, specially opening/closing scope, b-hop, etc.
Ive already disabled XBOX DVR from W10 update.

BF1:
Unplayable. Everything on LOW and disabled, I get 100% CPU usage all the time, FPS below 100 (measured by MSI afterburner). Please check the screen shot below. 55 fps on motion scenes, if I stand still i get around 100 FPS, but if someone passes by, if any nade explodes, it drops to 50~60. Im using 1920x1080 res, already tried to low res but the cpu usage is the same, I believe it gets worst because lower resolutions use more CPU (i read that somewhere else).

Guys, please, if you have any idea just let me know...perhaps my CPU is bottlenecking?

Some changes ive done trying to solve my problems:
- Disabled DVR on Xbox app, deleting the app after.
- After installing my SSD, i disable the Superfetch service.
- Unparked my cores using Coderbag software

Thank you in advance!

Daniel

Factory or formating should do the same thing.

My best guess now is some sort of background program your running is hogging up resources which is why your FPS is lower (reinstalling windows typically fixes that).
resolution doesn't affect CPU usage
BF1 has crazy CPU requirements. although 50fps are hardly "unplayable.
even my i7-6700k is between 90-100% in that game

as for csgo: since when do you have this issue? valve screwed customers with an update in september I think which caused fps drops for everybody, frankly not affecting those who can run the game still on 300 fps
as for the game, cap your fps with "max fps 150" so you avoid drops of any kind and have a smooth gameplay

no problem here, only thing is that i5.
i5 will always bottleneck on high framerates, you will need an i7. Even my 4690k @ 4.4Ghz gets 100% on conquest battlefield 1 bottlenecking my GPU very hard when i start reaching 80Fps

resolution doesn't affect CPU usage
False.

If the res. is lowered to the point where the graphics card isn't maxed out but the CPU is, the CPU becomes the bottleneck.

Lower resolutions and an uncapped frame rate will often bottleneck at the CPU end of things, depending on the game.

I wouldn't categorize any of those frame rates as "unplayable", though. BF will be optimized with a future update. Crank up the resolution to 1080 and enjoy the game.

At LOW settings he should not be getting a CPU bottleneck. Something is wrong...

Dan, I suggest doing a few things:

1. Update your mobo's BIOS.
2. Update your graphics drivers.
3. Update steam, BF1, CSGO if they aren't already.

If that doesn't work, you might need to reinstall windows if you really want those extra FPS.

Thank you all for your replies, I am gathering as much info as possible and try to fix it out.
@Isokolon: I will try to cap max fps, even thou I still think this is not right, cause If my gear is able to handle a lot of fps so why would I cap it? But I will give it a try and get back to you.

@Alladad: I see, an upgrade is something I am thinking about...mayb in a near future. I will try to fix my fps with the gear i already own.

@dudeman509: Thank you for your exaplanation on lower res. Though I really think those frame rates are unplayable, specially BF1. I dont use 1080p onCS:GO due to many reasons that affect my gamestyle, for instance 16:9 has a bigger field of view which gets my attention unproperly, also stretched resolutions make you opponents appear thicker in your screen, and so on....so I will not change my res on CS GO to 1080p, I would rather gather info on internet and fix my problem with my pc...

Thank you guys, you are awesome.

@TechyInAZ: Hi friend, thank you for posting your thoughts. My GPU drivers are updated (Geforce Experience does it by itself), my games are all updated because Steam and Origin do it by themselves too. I will check on my BIOS driver and I will also reinstall windows (does getting it back to factory do the job? Or do i have to completly format and install again?).

Thanks again, I will do it. What do you think about unparking cores? Is it the right thing to do?
