I was offered a used OEM i5-4570(haswell) for $133 by a friend.
I was really planning on getting a boxed i5-4460(haswell refresh).
But i5-4570(haswell) is very cheap it was used for 4 months. I'm not really sure if im getting a good deal with the old i5-4570(haswell). Please advise.

I'm currently using a G3258 overclocked at 4.6ghz with a z97 board.
I'm currently on a dilemma. Thanks for the suggestions.

Solution
It really was only an issue for the K version... where you wern't able to overclock them as high as you should because of the heat. I'm assuming you have an aftermarket cooler for your CPU seeing as you have a high overclock on the g3258, you shouldn't have any issues.
If you know the guy well and looks after his builds, then I'd go for the old 4570. Although 4570's aren't exactly expensive to buy brand new, plus you'd get the standard warranty by the supplier. Its really a risk to take on your part, if you trust the friend enough then go for it, but don't say I didn't warn you! 😉

Thanks for the replies. He's currently using the processor with a coolermaster T4 hsf and GIGABYTE G1.Sniper B5.
I believe he knows how take care of his rig. What concerns me is that i've read that the TIM in the IHS is not that great with the haswell so that why they made and update and released the haswell refresh processors..

Ahh yes, I'm currently using a Coolermaster Hyper 212x with my G3258 right now.
Since this is a locked chip so i'm good to go then..
Thanks Derza10 for the clarification. :)
