I'm considering upgrading my PC as I want something faster. I mostly play Dota2, CS:GO and PUBG, but I would like to be able to play new AAA titles on good graphics on my 1440p Asus PG279Q monitor as well.

Current build:
CPU: i5-4590 3,3 GHz
GFX: MSI GTX970 G4MING
Memory: 3x 4GB Kingston PC3-12800
MB: AsRock H97 Pro4
CPU Fan: Hyper 212 Evo (with better fan on it)

I have some Noctua facs installed in my Fractal Design Refine 3 cabinet as well.

What's my upgrade path from here? I'd prefer not to buy a new GFX yet, but I'm definitely going to take your advice into consideration.

Budget: I'd prefer bang for the buck upgrades.

Plus, what's the power supply? If it's a low-quality one, that would be the first thing to upgrade under any circumstances, but you did not provide that information.
Darn it, I knew I forgot something.

It's not low quality PSU, it's a:

It's not a low-qual PSU, I've learned that the hard way in the past.

It's an Antec EDGE EDG550 550W PSU as recommended by this site back in 2015 :)

Depends on budget but s 9700k, RTX2080 and 16Gb 3000mhz RAM would be a great 1440p 144Hz setup. You can compromise down from this if needed, a 2070 or 2060 will work, each compromising settings or FPS.

2080 looks somewhat affordable. 2080TI seems too expensive compared to the performance.

Any specific RAM recommendations? :)
And is my PSU good enough?
