i5-4670 CPU compatibility

Hi,
I have a i5-4670 CPU and Z87 G43 gaming mother board, i needed to know if CMY16GX3M2A2400C10R (corsair venegence RAM) would be able to run at 2400 Mhz with this CPU and Motherboard???

but, this link at INTEL website says that it will only support up to 1600Mhz , please elaborate

Your motherboard is capable of running RAM at 2400MHz but it will run at 1600HZ unless you overclock.

I understand that i can run it by enabling XMP profile in my mobo's Bios. But will my CPU limit it to 1600 only???
