Hey guys,

It's been a while since i last upgraded my system... At the moment it sports watercooled 4670k with stable overclock of 4.4.Ghz (no a great example...) and GTX 780 gpu...

Should i upgrade only the GPU ( im thinking 1070 ti or 1080) to play latest games and not bottleneck the GPU? Looking for your opinions.

Thank you :)

Depends on the game, I also have a 780 & 4670k @4.3Ghz and it only just holds 60fps at 1080p at medium-high settings in some newer games.

If you are wanting a higher resolution only a gpu upgrade should be fine with your cpu. If you were trying for higher FPS you may find the 4670k limiting performance but it depends on the game.
1st, your cpu is aging... you already knew that... and is about the same in power as an I7-2600 with that overclocking, and that is still decent cpu to game.
2nd, your lga1150 motherboard should be able to handle a 1060,1070,1080 model without a problem
3rd, your psu may need to be upgraded depending on what you currently have running or not if you need help figuring that , provide make/model details.
Lastly, will a new GPU bottleneck on your cpu... possible depends on the game.

I was thinking of upgrading from 1200p to 1440p... 780GTX is entirely capable of high/ultra settings at 1200p... So i think monitor resolution bump is in order aswell! :)
