I'm trying to overclock my CPU and whenever I log into windows 10 on aida 64 it shows the clock as 3.4 GHz or the base clock. In CPU - Z it shows it as 4.0 GHz which is what I'm trying to overclock to. Anybody got any ideas?

Solution
If you are overclocking a Intel K series cpu.

In the bios of your motherboard turn off the turbo boost feature.
Also disable the Intel speed setp cpu option.

Set the required multiplier value you wish.

Bclk x multipler = overall clock speed, overclock of cpu 200Mhz x 20 = 4.0 ghz.

Set the power plan profile in windows to high performance, and apply.

Both should then read 4 Ghz cpu speed.

It will run at a constant 4Ghz clock speed for the cpu all of the time.
