Hi i have just upgraded to an i5 4670k and installed a Cooler Master nepton 280L AIO but i'm getting very high temperature read outs from real temp. I have overclocked it to have a turbo of 4.3ghz with 1.165v.
with this i'm idling from 28 to 35 but when i run Intel burn test i get temps up to 76, this doesn't seem right to me with it only at 1.165v especially from reviews of the cooler when people have been overclocking i7s with near 1.3v and getting just under 70C.

The other thing is when real temp is telling me my cpu is at for example 28,32,28,29 as it is now i have gigabytes hardware monitor telling me its at 23. i have a Z97X gaming 3 motherboard so is it better using gigabytes software to go with it?
thanks for any replies in advance

Defiantly not normal, I have to get 4.5ghz and a 1.275 vcore out of my 4690K to get anywhere near those temps.

It can be a thermal paste issue if there are bubbles in the paste, then that would explain why it's so hot. Try getting some thermal paste, undo the old paste then apply a new layer.

I have the pump connected to molex so it runs full power and I have my fans running on full when I do a burn test.
Build is
i5 4670K
Nepton 280L cooler
H440
G1 GTX 970
hyperx fury 1866mhz 4gb x2 ram
Z97X Gaming 3 gigabyte mobo
Corsair rm750 psu
250gb evo 840 ssd

Bios only tells me current temp and that's at 32, cooler pump is connected to molex, fans on rad are connected to cpu header for fan curve but I run them on full for burn test. I have rad mounted to top of case with fans mounted under pushing air up to top of the case.

http://www.gigabyte.com.au/products/product-page.aspx?pid=4966#ov shows "GIGABYTE APP Center gives you easy access to wealth of GIGABYTE apps that help you get the most from your GIGABYTE motherboard. Using a simple, unified user interface, GIGABYTE APP Center allows you to launch all GIGABYTE apps installed on your system."

Use that.

That's an exe application I do have it installed though at idle it shows my cpu at 22 and on burn test it gets up to 66, it only shows the one value and not a temperature for each core

Also is the Intel processor diagnostic tool reliable for temperatures as I have just ran it and it says I am 56c below max while being stressed I was looking at gigabytes hardware monitor while it was running and the max temp was 44, I ran it again but this time looking at real temp read outs and while the cpu was being stressed real temp gave a max of 55,56,49,48
