just so you know, i've read the pinned threads about cpu temperatures but im still quite confused..

currently im using a stock cooler, and I play watch dogs on medium settings

I get CPU temperatures ranging from 65-70 degrees using CPUID

are these temperatures safe?

now when I mean safe, I mean that there is no damage to be sustained by the processor

thanks in advance!

Solution

Yeah, that means your 60-65C temps you are getting would only be 52-57C if you were in a 22C environment like above. You're still good.
Yes, safe....
4th Generation 22 Nanometer: 4790K (TDP 88W / Idle 2W)

Standard Ambient = 22C
Tcase (CPU temp) = 74C
CPU / Core offset + 5C
Tjunction (Core temp) = 79C
Tj Max (Throttle temp) = 100C
The Core temperatures above show that mid 70's are safe.

ohh okay thanks

but the ambient temperature here in my place is 30 degrees, does it matter?
