I5 4690 vs i5 4690k

I want to buy i5 4690k but i dont want to overclock it so it is better to buy 4690 or 4690k cuz the prices are not same

If you are not in overclocking then the 4690 is perfect for you

If you do not want to overclock, then buy a locked CPU. No need to spend extra money where it's not needed.

No, the 4960K has a higher base clock than the 4960 which would result in better performance. If you want the best performance possible, the 4960K would be your best option without overclocking. A higher clock speed can greatly improve games that are are optimized to use a single core.

EDIT: Confused myself into thinking you were referring to the i7 model. The i5's have the same base clock between the two. I'd go with the cheaper option.

For not overclocking you can even drop down to the i5 4460 performs amazing still but way cheaper

Personally I got the 4690k on sale so it was worth getting and now I can try out a light overclock just for fun (once my aftermarket cooler gets here)

Yeah the 4460 is typically at a much better price than either of those, or if you live near a microcenter, you could get an i5 4590 for $160.
